The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about questionable actions directed at young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
